Macrocarpa is a hardy cypress native to Monterey in Southern California and planted as an ornamental in Europe and the USA. Very fast-growing.  Bright-yellow foliage, especially in full sun.  Distinctive specimen tree.  Salt and wind hardy.  Can be trimmed, but care should be taken not to trim back too hard. Will tolerate dry sites once established. Evergreen. Hardy.
